In Delhi, new strict coronavirus guidelines announced

New Delhi : The Delhi government has announced new strict guidelines after alarming number of new coronavirus cases, imposing ban on most of the social gathering spots.

According to new rules, the government has announced a ban on all types of social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural and religious gatherings in Delhi.

Only 50 people will be allowed for wedding functions and only 20 people are allowed for funerals.

Restaurants, bars and cinemas have been asked to operate at 50% occupancy and strict coronavirus measures like social distancing and sanitization.

Buses and metros will also carry passengers at 50% of the seating occupancy.

All swimming pools, except those where sportsperson are training for national and international events will remain closed. All sports events can be held in Delhi inside a stadium with no spectators.

Schools and colleges were already asked to close down earlier this week.

Government offices will work at 50 per cent capacity as well except for high-level Grade 1 officers.

All these new restrictions will remain in place till April 30, 2021.

Delhi reported 7,897 new coronavirus cases and 39 deaths in the last 24 hours on Saturday, taking its overall tally to over 7.1 lakh.
