In Karnataka, 15-year-old raped, impregnated by guardian

Los Angeles : In a shocking incident, a 15-year-old girl student of a government school was allegedly raped by her guardian for the past several months in a small town of Karnataka.

During the molestation the girl became pregnant thus inciting protests by villagers and later a police investigation in the incident.

According to police, ‘Krishnappa worked as a labourer in Basrikatte village of Karnataka's Koppal district and took custody of a minor girl who was abandoned by her biological parents.

A senior police official said, "Krishnappa, who is a drunkard, allegedly assaulted and raped the victim on several occasions. He had also threatened the victim of serious consequences if she complained about it." 

The girl is studying in class 7 in a local government school.

Police told media that Krishnappa is a serial offender and was earlier arrested for running an illegal slaughter house near his house.
