India administered record 10 crore vaccines in 11 days
New Delhi : India's has vaccinated a total of 80 crore people till date. After a record vaccination of 2.5 crore people on PM Modi's birthday, the government has claimed that around 10 crore doses have been administered within 11 days.
"In a landmark achievement, India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 80 crore landmark milestone (80,33,75,147) today. More than 77.25 lakh (77,25,076) vaccine doses have been administered till 7 pm today," it said.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya congratulated the people of the country, including healthcare workers, for the achievement of the 80-crore milestone.
According to a data of Health Ministry's website, 60,03,94,452 first vaccine doses and 20,29,80,695 second vaccine doses have been administered.
Coronavirus vaccination is the only reliable way to protect the country from COVID-19.
India on Friday administered a record number of over 2.50 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 71st birthday, which Mansukh Mandaviya described as a golden chapter in world history.
