India tests over 19 million coronavirus samples till July 31

New Delhi : Testing is the only way to detect coronavirus threat in a nation and India has paced it up drastically with concluding over 19 million tests till July 31, 2020.

The total number of Covid 19 samples tested up to 31st July is 1,93,58,659. Out of them 5,25,689 were tested on Friday, said ICMR.

Meanwhile, India has surpassed Italy to take the fifth spot on the tally of world’s worst-hit countries in terms of the number of coronavirus deaths. As on Friday, India recorded 779 fatalities, taking the country’s death toll to 35,747, the John Hopkins University reported.

The country has so far registered 16,38,870 instances of the coronavirus infection, with a surge of 55,000 cases just on Friday, which is the highest single-day tally for the second consecutive day, and the total number also includes foreigners.
