IRCTC adds mobile apps to book rail tickets, Ola cab: Check full details

New Delhi : Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) have launched new method for booking train tickets. Last month on April 5, the department has introduced new rules for Tatkal bookings and now again; officials have come up with the fresh process of booking rail tickets through mobile application.

"Now, IRCTC e-wallet users can book rail tickets through its mobile app IRCTC Rail Connect," IRCTC said on Twitter. Like other wallets including Paytm or Mobikwik, IRCTC e-wallet users can recharge their wallet and use the amount at the time of booking rail tickets. 

Travellers can use the e-wallet system by registering themselves on the official website of IRCTC. Accordingly, user can connect six bank details on his preference list. IRCTC e-wallet is available on its website as well as mobile app. 

In addition to booking tickets, IRCTC Rail Connect app also provides cab booking facility. IRCTC has joined hands with Ola to make offer easy road trip for rail travellers. 

Also, passengers can now order food through IRCTC Food on Track app. "Now your favourite food is just a click away even during Train Journey! IRCTC brings to you delicious meals from restaurant of your choice," IRCTC tweeted. 

Passengers can book food through the Android app using their PNR number. The app allows users to pay online and offline mode through credit card, debit card, internet banking or cash on delivery. 

In addition, Railways has also launched no bill, free food policy. Under the new policy, if vendor doesn't provide a bill for food and beverages purchased on trains, the passenger can avail the food for free.
