ISRO scientist found dead inside Hyderabad flat, police begins probe

Hyderabad : An ISRO scientist was found murdered inside his flat in Hyderabad, said the police.

Identified as 56-year-old S Suresh, he had an injury mark of being struck by a heavy object on head. His body was found inside a flat in Annapurna Apartment in Ameerpet, an area in the heart of the city.

“There are injury marks on his head. He appears to have been hit with a heavy blunt object. We are investigating if someone forcibly entered into the flat or the assailant was known to the victim,” an official was quoted as saying.

Suresh did not reported in office on Tuesday, following which his colleagues tried to contact him on his mobile but with failed attempts they informed his wife, who is a bank employee in Chennai.

Relatives of Suresh, who reportedly also lived in the same apartment, also checked on the house, before informing his wife, who rushed to Hyderabad and also notified the police. They broke open the flat to find Suresh lying dead.

The police is now scanning the CCTV footage from nearby areas of the apartment.

Suresh had been living in Hyderabad for over 20 years. His wife was also working in the city but was transferred to Chennai in 2005.

Their son is settled in the US while their daughter lives in Chennai.
