Jammu and Kashmir: Arrested DSP admits to helping terrorists for Rs 12 lakh

Srinagar : Arrested DSP of Jammu and Kashmir Police has admitted that he was helping the Hizbul terrorists because he was given Rs 12 lakh to ferry the terrorists from Srinagar to Chandigarh from where they were supposed to carry on their journey to New Delhi, IG (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar told media on Monday.

The DSP was caught in a vehicle with three other men (two Hizbul terrorists) in Kulgam district.

He has been suspended from his post and is likely to be stripped of all his awards, including the President's Police Medal for anti-militancy operations.

During the interrogations with the several intelligence agencies, he also confessed that he had kept the terrorists at his residence in Indira Nagar house in Srinagar.

Meanwhile, it has been learned that the government is thinking of shifting the case to NIA to find out the real motive behind the terrorists movement to New Delhi.

Devinder Singh had historical connections of helping the terrorists too.

Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru had claimed that he had provided accommodation to one of the attackers on Parliament on the orders of Devinder Singh. He had admitted it in a statement given to his lawyer.
