Kamal Nath government in crisis, 18 MLAs fly out of Bangalore
New Delhi : Several meetings were held at Congress and BJP camps after 17 Congress legislators loyal to Jyotiraditya Scindia flew out to Bengaluru, leaving the ruling party in state in deep crisis.
Kamal Nath indicated that he is fighting with plans for Cabinet rejig - six ministers were among the Scindia loyalists who decamped.
"I won't let those forces succeed which are creating instability with mafia's help," he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI. "My biggest strength is the trust and love of people of Madhya Pradesh. I won't let those forces succeed which are creating instability in government, a government created by people of Madhya Pradesh," he added.
The cabinet meeting came following a meeting of CM Kamal Nath and his senior leaders.
Parallel meetings were also seen in the Bharatiya Janata Party camp - a crucial meet attended by the party's former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan; the meeting was held at Amit Shah's residence.
Kamal Nath had flown to Delhi on Sunday night and then went back to Bhopal on Monday evening after meeting with senior Congress leaders.
Before leaving for Bhopal, Kamal Nath told journalists that he discussed a number of issues with the top leadership and there is complete unanimity about who will be sent to Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh.
But this evening, six ministers - including Pradumn Singh Tomar, Imarti Devi, Prabhuram Chowdhary, Govind Singh Rajput, Tulsi Silawat and Mahendra Singh Sisodiya - and 11 MLAs, mostly from Gwalior-Chambal region suddenly became untraceable.
