Kerala : India has reported 46,164 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday, with 31,445 cases coming from Kerala only. India’s total tally of COVID-19 cases has increased to 3,25,58,530, while the active cases rose to 3,33,725, according to the Union Health Ministry data. The death toll climbed to 4,36,365 with 607 fresh fatalities, according to the data updated at 8 AM.

The active coronavirus cases comprise of 1.03 per cent of the total positive cases. The nation's recovery rate stands at 97.63 per cent, the ministry said. 

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,17,88,440 and the case fatality rate stands at 1.34 per cent, the data stated.

The health ministry on Wednesday noted that they have administered first dose to more than 60 crore Indian citizens till date.

Kerala recorded a nearly 30 per cent jump as it reported 31,445 cases in the past 24 hours and 215 deaths along with a test positivity rate of 19.03 per cent.

Maharashtra, the worst-hit state in terms of COVID cases, reported 5,031 new infections and 216 fatalities in 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate of country was recorded at 2.58 per cent. It has been less than three per cent for the last 31 days.
