Let's make 'Namaste' a habit: PM Narendra Modi on coronavirus

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday asked people to not believe in rumours regarding the coronavirus and advised people to consult a doctor in case you feel any symptom.

He also asked people to avoid handshakes and start greeting others with a 'namaste'.

PM Modi was interacting with the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojna (PMBJP) through video conference.

"I appeal to my fellow countrymen to stay away from rumours regarding coronavirus," he said.

The whole world is adopting the habit of greeting each other with a "namaste", PM Modi said. "If, for some reason, we have left this habit. It is the right time to adopt this habit once again, instead of going for a handshake," he added.

Talking about the impact of the PMBJP initiative, he said every month, over one crore families are getting benefits of cheap medicines from these Jan Aushadhi Kendras.

Over 6,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country have helped people save between Rs 2,000-2,500 crore, he added.
