Haridwar : As heavy rains lashed northern India, an incident of lightning strike in Haridwar shocked many people. The incident happened at the Har Ki Pauri in the holy town of Haridwar on Monday.

According to the details, a wall was found collapsed after a lightning struck near the Brahmakund at Har Ki Pauri; moments after that a nearby transformer also caught fire.

Due to lockdown and from god's grace no one was present at the site and no casualties have been reported.

When reports last came in, local police and Shri Ganga Sabha volunteers had barricaded the area and begun operations to clear out the site. Further, pilgrims have been stopped from going towards the Brahmakund for now as a precautionary measure.

The incident comes a day after three men were killed and six went missing after a cloudburst and heavy rains in Munsyari region of the state’s Pithoragarh district.

Meanwhile, IMD has predicted more rains in Uttarakhand for next two days.
