Live on Facebook student jumps off 19th floor in Mumbai hotel

Mumbai : In a bizarre incident, a 24-year-old youth committed suicide by jumping out of the window of a five-star hotel in Bandra (West). The fateful incident took place at Taj Lands End Hotel.

While committing suicide, Arjun Bharadwaj was in Facebook Live video and is heard saying it is a “tutorial about how to (commit) suicide”.

He can also be seen consuming alcohol and smoking cigarettes in the one minute and 43 seconds long video.

As per police, Bhardwaj left nine short suicide notes on the table in room number 1925.

A security official at the hotel said that the youth broke the window glass using a chair.

Police has registered an accidental death report in the case.

 

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police urged youngsters to reach out to them. “Deeply bereaved with suicide of a young boy in the city. We urge the youngsters to reach out to us #WeAreListening,” tweeted Mumbai Police.
