Live pipe bombs recovered from tailoring shop in Madurai, three held
Madurai : Two live bombs have been recovered by cops from a tailor shop in Madurai. Initial investigations suggest that they were being prepared to create disturbance during the Republic Day celebrations.
Madurai Police has detained three men for their alleged involvement in making the bombs.
According to a report by news daily, two pipe bombs, measuring about 1.5 feet, were recovered from a tailor shop in Alwarpuram following a tip-off. These were live with batteries attached, and ready to be placed, claimed police.
The bombs are now under Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad personnel.
