Lockdown in Assam from 6 pm on March 24 till March 31
Assam : Assam government has announced that the state will be put under a lockdown from 6 pm on Tuesday and will remain till March 31.
This comes after the total number of coronavirus cases in India rose by 19, despite being under lockdown on Sunday and Monday.
Essential services will remain open for people under lockdown.
Majority of the states in India have already announced lockdown to break the chain of spreading coronavirus.
Hospital, grocery shops, medicine shops, vegetable shops, telecom, postage, bank, medical supply chains, essential commodity supply chains will, however, remain open.
The government will also appeal all the private organisations not to pay cut the private sector employees.
Meanwhile, all domestic flights and trains have been suspended in India. Only Cargo services will remain active to maintain food supply.
