Lok Sabha discusses Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya
New : The Indian parliament's lower house, Lok Sabha, debated the ongoing construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya on Saturday. This discussion was interrupted by protests from members of the DMK party regarding a separate issue affecting Tamil Nadu fishermen.
Opening the debate on "the construction of the historic Shri Ram Temple and the installation of Shri Ramlala," BJP member Satya Pal Singh emphasized that Lord Ram transcends religious boundaries and belongs to all, not just Hindus.
His assertion, including accusations of Congress questioning Ram's existence, sparked strong reactions from opposition members. Singh further stressed that the Ayodhya temple construction should not be viewed as a divisive "communal" issue, despite certain perceptions.
