Man booked for sharing false information on COVID 19 or coronavirus
New Delhi : A man has been booked in Arunachal Pradesh for allegedly sharing wrong information on social media about the COVID 19 aka coronavirus outbreak, the police said on Sunday.
An FIR has been launched against Subu Kena Tsering based on a complaint filed by the district medical officer Kaling Daiat Pasighat police station on Friday, the police added.
According to a news report by PTI, Tsering allegedly posted in a Facebook group that coronavirus infection has reached Pasighat and two patients have been referred to Dibrugarh in upper Assam.
The man is yet to be arrested in the matter.
As a security measure, the Arunachal Government has refused to issue PAPs to the foreigners which is a must document if they are visiting any populated state in India that shared border with China.
In an order issued on Friday, chief secretary Naresh Kumar directed all PAP issuing authorities to suspend the issue of the permit immediately till further orders. “The spread of coronavirus in India is primarily from visitors who had a history of travelling abroad or through tourist who had visited India ... In order to prevent the spread of Corona Virus (COVID-19) in Arunachal Pradesh, it has been decided to temporarily suspend issuing of PAP to visit Arunachal Pradesh,” the order stated.
No positive case of coronavirus has been detected in North East yet.
