New Delhi : A 27-year-old man was drowned in a waterlogged Pul Prahladpur underpass following heavy rains, after he went inside the water to shoot a video.

At 1:37 pm Pul Prahladpur Police Station received information about the man and they rushed to the spot with fire brigade and divers, but he was drowned by then. The body has been recovered and sent for post mortem.

According to the police, the man has been identified as Ravi Chautala, a resident of Gautampuri area. His family has been informed about the incident and his death.

According to locals, the man had gone inside water to apparently click a selfie or shoot a video.

The Pul Prahladpur underpass is one of the several locations in Delhi which see frequent waterlogging during the monsoon. Last year too, visuals of submerged vehicles at the underpass did the rounds on social media.

In the last 24 hours, Delhi has recorded more than 70mm rainfall.

The city recorded a minimum temperature of 24.2 degrees Celsius today, three points below the normal for the season.
