Mayor Somya Gurjar meets Finance Minister, discusses GST reforms and Jaipur’s development

New Delhi : Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation Mayor Dr. Somya Gurjar met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on Tuesday to discuss GST reforms and ongoing development initiatives in Jaipur.
During the meeting, Dr. Gurjar briefed the Finance Minister on recent developmental works in Jaipur and the beautification efforts undertaken at the local body level. She highlighted the positive economic environment created in Rajasthan following the implementation of GST-2 reforms, noting that the changes have provided direct relief to both citizens and the business community.
Dr. Gurjar also shared insights from her tenure at the Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation and discussed the financial condition of local bodies in Rajasthan, emphasizing the need for measures to strengthen their economic framework.
As a gesture of appreciation, she presented Sitharaman with “Mera Jaipur Greater,” a coffee-table book showcasing the work of the Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation.
