New Delhi : In the first two days of vaccination drive, more than 2.2 lakh people have been vaccinated against coronavirus and 447 cases of adverse reaction have been registered so far.

Only three of them were hospitalized and two of them have already been discharged from AIIMS, Delhi and Northern Railway hospital.

“One case is still under observation in AIIMS Rishikesh and is fine,” additional health secretary Manohar Agnani said.

In the registered adverse effects, most of the cases have reported fever, pain, headache, nausea, giddiness and mild allergic reactions like rashes etc.

“Protocols are in place for reporting, immediate case management at vaccination session site, transportation and hospitalization and further care of such cases. Protocols are also in place for systematic investigation and causality assessment of serious AEFIs,” Agnani said.

An AIIMS worker was admitted to the hospital after he developed allergic reaction after taking COVAXIN shot.

India on Saturday launched its vaccination drive with two vaccines – COVISHIELD and COVAXIN.
