New Delhi : A 41-year old Mumbai based banker has been cheated by four men who promised him a date in exchange of money amounting to Rs 12 lakhs.

As per a media report, 4 men allegedly approached him as the operators of a dating app and kept taking money from him with a promise of arranging a date for him.

The man has now lodged a complaint against the men at the Dadra Police Station on June 2.

It has been learned that the site popped up on his mobile as an ad with a promise of date. He ended up making a profile on it and also started making payments in hope to get hitched.

"Minutes after I provided my details, I received a call from a woman named, Tanya. She said their company was offering a date with a beautiful girl and as part of the offer, they'd refund the money they charged for it," he said in his statement to cops.

The money was being taken to make arrangements for day-long date for him at a five-star hotel, but this never happened and the man now feels cheated.
