Mumbai Mega Block: Local train services on Central Railways to be hit on Sunday

Mumbai : Sunday will bring huge inconvenience to train commuters in Mumbai as mega block will be carried out by the Central Railways on the local train services for the maintenance work on the main line and Harbour line.

"On Main line, block will be held on CSMT-bound slow corridor between Mulund and Matunga from 11:30 AM to 4 PM. On harbour line, block will be between Panvel-Vashi on both, Up and Down lines, from 11:30 AM to 4 PM. Panvel-Andheri services will remain cancelled during the block," TOI quoted a CR spokesperson as saying. 

No block has been announced on the Western Railways.

During the maintenance work, it is expected that the suburban trains will remain overcrowded and the passengers are requested to avoid traveling on the footboard and rooftops. It is also advised that the passengers must retrain themselves from boarding the overcrowded trains for their safety.

The Central Railway and Western Railway carry out mega block and jumbo block almost on every Sunday to maintain the infrastructure and safety.
