Nearly 13% of COVID-19 patients in India recover: Report

New Delhi : While the number of coronavirus cases is continuously rising, the good news is that the rate of recovery has also increased to 13% from 8% last week.

On Friday, the health ministry of India informed that 1748 patients have recovered from the coronavirus, meaning around 13 per cent people who were diagnosed positive to the coronavirus.

Last Saturday, there were 7447 patients who had tested positive to the virus and only 642 had recovered, amounting to 8% of the total cases.

Maharashtra, which has the most number of coronavirus cases in India, accounted to maximum number of recoveries. With over 3000 Covid-19 cases, the state accounts for 300 patients who have recovered or have been discharged.

Kerala closely follows with the second-highest number of patients recovering from coronavirus. So far, 245 patients here have beaten the disease.

Telangana and Tamil Nadu have seen 186 and 180 Covid-19 patients recover from the virus respectively.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra, Delhi and Tamil Nadu continue to struggle with the rising number of coronavirus cases. These states, together with Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, account for more than 60% of total number of cases in the country.
