Video: Chhattisgarh news anchor breaks news of husband's death on live bulletin

New Delhi : A news anchor redefined courage with her sheer professionalism on Saturday as she read out breaking news of her husband's death in live bulletin. 

Like a normal daily routine Supreet Kaur, a TV anchor from Chhattisgarh, walked into studio. Breaking news came midway through the bulletin: a live phone-in.

As reporter revealed the details, she got a hint that it is about her husband but keeping her cool, she read out the news and finished the bulletin.

Though the phone-in had not revealed the names of victims but details likemake of the SUV — a Renault Duster — and the accident spot, at Pithora in Chhattisgarh's Mahasamund district were enough to get Supreet linking of the tragedy.

After completing the bulletin, the anchor broke out and started calling relatives. She also called back the reporter to confirm her one of the biggest fears.

Her husband Harsad Kawade was indeed among the three casualties.

Supreet, 28, and Harsad had been married for just about a year. She comes from the steel township of Bhilai ans has been working as a news anchor with the channel for the past nine years. She is the mother of a young daughter.
