Noida gets its first virtual court to settle traffic challans
Noida : Noida inaugurated its first virtual court for the settlement of traffic challans on Friday. The inauguration was done in the presence of Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Muneshwar Nath Bhandari, Justice SP Kesarwani, Justice Umesh Kumar and Justice Manish Mathur.
The new court has been setup to facilitate people in clearing their challans over traffic rule violation.
District Judge Ashok Kumar and Dr Suresh Kumar, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Gautam Buddha Nagar, along with Additional Chief Secretary Home Avneesh Awasthi were also present on the occasion of the inauguration of the virtual court.
Now, Noida residents will not have to visit the court physically. Instead, they can make the payment of fine through the web portal vcourts.gov.in.
The new system will also help the authorities in identifying repeat offenders.
In May 2020, Supreme Court Judge Justice D.Y. Chandrachud had inaugurated two virtual courts in Delhi for online settling of challans for traffic violations.
