Odisha: Wedding gift explodes, two including groom killed

Odisha : A newly-wed man and his grand mother lost their lives, while wife was critically injured after a gift, received at their reception, exploded as they were unwrapping it at their home in Odisha.

Soumya Sekhar Sahu succumbed to injuries at a local hospital while his wife is being treated and is in critical condition, reported Hindustan Times.

The couple had tied knot on February 18 this year.

The cops have initiated their investigations and are looking for the person who had gifted that box to the couple during reception ceremony.

“The police, dog squad and a forensic team have started an investigation,” said Patnagarh Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sesadeva Bariha said, according to the Hindustan Times. Bariha said the parcel seemed to have a crude bomb designed to explode on unwrapping.
