Pakistan ceasefire violations: Five civilians killed in firing on LoC in Poonch

Jammu : Five members of a family were killed and two others critically injured on Sunday in Pakistan shelling on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, police said.
According to the police, the Pakistan Army resorted to indiscriminate shelling and firing on the civilian areas in Mendhar sector.
"Pakistan firing and shelling started at 7.40 a.m. The house of a civilian identified as Muhammad Ramzan Chowdhary was hit by a shell.
"Chowdhary, his wife Malka Bi and three sons were killed. His two daughters were critically injured," the police said.
The Indian troops were retaliating appropriately and effectively in the ongoing gunfire. District administration has started shifting the civilians living close to the LoC to safer places, sources said.
