New Delhi : Vasundhara Raje's decision to cut VAT in her state by 4 per cent has brought petrol and diesel prices down up to Rs 2.5 per litre. Following her move Andhra Pradesh Government has also decided to reduce VAT on fuels that will bring down the prices by up to Rs 2 per litre.

The new petrol and diesel prices in Andhra Pradesh will be applicable from Tuesday Morning (September 11).

In Rajasthan, the VAT on petrol has been reduced from 30 to 26 per cent and from 22 to 18 per cent on diesel, Rajasthan Chief Minister Raje announced at a public gathering in Rawatsar in Hanumangarh district on Sunday.

“We have decided to reduce VAT on diesel and petrol by 4 per cent, which will provide much-needed relief to the people of the state, be it farmers or women or others,” Raje told reporters in Rawatsar after making the announcement.

Petrol and diesel prices set new records again on Monday as they hit Rs 80.73 and Rs 72.83 a litre respectively in Delhi. Fuel prices in Delhi are the cheapest among all metros and most state capitals due to lower taxes.
