PM Modi in Jewar: First phase of Noida International Airport inaugurated

Jewar : Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (March 28) inaugurated the first phase of the Noida International Airport at Jewar, marking a major milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s development. This is set to become the second major international airport in the Delhi-NCR region, boosting connectivity and strengthening the state’s position as a global investment hub.
The event was attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, and other dignitaries. The Prime Minister was welcomed with a sacred artwork of Lord Buddha at the function.
UP set to attract global investment
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said the airport is not just about flights but a key part of a larger logistics network. He highlighted that the region is becoming a hub for two major Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFC), with Dadri serving as a strategic junction where they meet.
He added that improved connectivity will help farmers and industries in Uttar Pradesh transport their goods faster across the country and the world. This multi-modal connectivity is expected to make the state a preferred destination for global investors.
Focus on development over old beliefs
Taking a dig at previous governments, PM Modi mentioned the old superstition linked to visiting Noida, where leaders avoided coming due to fear of losing elections.
He said that when he planned to visit Noida earlier, the then Chief Minister was hesitant and even advised against it. However, he chose to visit, calling it a place of strength and inspiration for public service.
Today, the region is ready to welcome the world. The new airport is expected to give a strong boost to Uttar Pradesh’s growth and contribute to India’s vision of self-reliance.
