New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (December 25) inaugurated new Magenta line of Delhi Metro from Botanical Garden in Noida to Kalka Ji Mandir in New Delhi. Along with him, Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also present.

The leaders enjoyed their first ride on the new Delhi metro train.

The 12.64 KM long stretch will have nine stations on it. Apart from Kalkaji Mandir, all other stations are elevated.

The entire line, when complete, will run from Botanical Garden to Janakpuri West.

With the addition of new metro route, travel time between Delhi and Noida is expected to cut by approximately 45 minutes.

The coaches will reportedly have LED display, power charging capacity and colourful seats, while the stations will portray themes of nature, yoga, and cultural landmarks.

This was the third time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a metro service in the country.
