Police detains Kashmiri cricketers after singing Pakistan anthem

New Delhi : It seems the separatists in Jammu and Kashmir doesn’t want peace. Recently, Jammu and Kashmir cricketers, were seen wearing Pakistani jersey and singing Pakistan's national anthem during a cricket match. Taking cognizance of the issue, the police have detained the players. The players were said to be absconding after the incident.

 

The match was played at Wayil playground in central Kashmir on April 2 when separatists had called for a bandh to protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir to inaugurate the Chenani-Nashri tunnel.

The team members also sang the Pakistani national anthem before the start of the match.

 

The team that wore the Pakistani green is named after Baba Darya Ud Din, a popular saint whose shrine is situated in Ganderbal.
