Political signal! Sonia Gandhi meets Mehbooba Mufti

Srinagar : Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Sunday dropped on PDP President Mehbooba Mufti’s place in Srinagar to share her grief.

Many reports claimed it to be a political signal of two leaders coming together to form government.

However, PDP denied all such claims and said this is a private condolence visit. It's about sympathy, empathy, solidarity, creating an opening to the future.

Sonia landed in Srinagar in a commercial flight 2 hours before she visited Mufti.

The meeting that lasted for 10 minutes was designed to convey, “I understand your loss very well.”

Mufti and Gandhis have been good friend from long time. Recently, Sonia Gandhi had visited Sayeed  twice when he  was admitted in AIIMS in New Delhi.
