Ryan school murder case: Pradyuman's senior killed him to postpone exams, sent to CBI custody
New Delhi : In the latest twist to Gurgaon based Ryan International School murder case, a class XI student has been alleged of killing Pradyuman Thakur with a motive to get the examinations and parents teacher meeting postponed, said CBI.
The new alleged culprit was produced before a local court in Gururgram and has been sent to three-day CBI custody.
CBI spokesperson Abhishek Dayal said the student was detained on Tuesday night as the prime suspect in the gory September 8 murder of Pradhuman Thakur that had earlier led to the arrest of the conductor who Haryana Police insisted had committed the murder.
The development came after initial investigation and scrutiny of CCTV footage from the crime spot by the CBI officers; they found that the new alleged culprit had carried a knife with him on the same day of murder.
"The weapon used in the commission of the crime is a knife which was recovered initially by police in Gurugram. It is now with us," Dayal told reporters here.
Dayal said the detained student was weak in studies and "wanted to have examinations and a Parent-Teacher Meeting postponed".
The CBI also claimed that it was not a planned murder instead Pradyuman happened to be a random target for him.
However, father of Class 11 student is crying foul and claiming that his son is being framed in the case. He was just a first person to find Pradyuman dead and he has no other relation to the case.
