Precautionary dose to be available for all adults from April 10

New Delhi : The health ministry has announced that the precautionary dose will now be available for all people above 18 from April 10 onwards.

All the adults who have completed nine months of their second dose will be eligible for the precautionary dose at private vaccination centres.

More than 2.4 precautionary doses have been administered to the health workers, frontline workers and people above 60 years. The free vaccination for first and second doses at the government centres will continue in an accelerated manner.

According to a press release, 96 per cent of the 15 plus population has received at least the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. And 83 per cent of the population has received both doses of the vaccine.

It also noted that 45 per cent of the beneficiaries aged 12 to 14 years have received the first dose already.
