President Kovind appoints 5 new governors

New Delhi : India's president Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday appointed five new governors, including transfer and appointment of Kalraj Mishra.

Kalraj Mishra, the governor of Himachal Pradesh, has been transferred to Rajasthan, he will be replacing Kalyan Singh. Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya will replace Kalraj Mishra in Himachal Pradesh. Bhagat Singh Koshyari has been appointed as the new Governor of Maharashtra. Koshyari will replace Vidyasagar Rao.

Arif Mohammed Khan has been appointed as the Kerala governor in place of P Sathasivam.

After being appointed as the new Kerala governor, Khan said, "It is an opportunity to serve. Fortunate to be born in a country like India which is so vast and rich in diversity. It is a great opportunity for me to know this part of India, which forms boundary of India and is called god's own country."

Last but not the least, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan has been appointed as the Governor of Telangana, replacing E.S.L. Narasimhan.
