New Delhi : Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has cancelled her upcoming election tour to Assam, Tamil Nadu and Kerala as she has gone under home isolation at her residence in Delhi after her husband Robert Vadra tested positive for coronavirus.

Mr Vadra had announced on social media that he has tested positive and is asymptomatic so far. "As per the Covid guidelines, Priyanka and I are self-isolating although she has tested negative," he said in his social media post.

Priyanka Gandhi released a video on Twitter to announce that though she has tested negative for coronavirus, she will be staying in home isolation for some days on the advice of doctors. She is 49-year-old. "I'd like to apologise to everybody for not being able to be there. I wish all the candidates that I was supposed to campaign for the very, very best in the election. I hope all of you do well and the Congress is victorious,"she said in the 41-second video.



Their children were staying with them in past few days and they have tested negative for coronavirus.

Elections in Tamil Nadu and Kerala will be held on April 6, Assam is voting in three phases. Results for all states, including West Bengal, will be declared on May 2.
