Punjab: SIT to probe murder of senior journalist KJ Singh
Mohali : Punjab Police has formed a Special Investigating Team (SIT) to probe murder of senior journalist KJ Singh and his mother Gurcharan Kaur in Mohali. The development has come after Chief Minister Amarinder Singh directed police to go aggressive on the case.
Senior journalist KJ Singh and his 92-year-old mother were found dead at their residence in Mohali’s phase 3B2 on Saturday. The cops suspect that the attackers were more than one in number.
Singh has worked in senior positions at The Indian Express and The Times of India in Chandigarh.
Senior Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh Chahal claimed that they have some leads against the culprits and they will be nabbed soon by the police. “We have some leads. We will soon arrest the culprits,” he said.
Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal has expressed shock at Singh’s demise.
