New Delhi : In a tragic incident, Pushpak Express was halted with emergency chain pulling amid rumours of fire in one of the coaches; passengers started jumping out of the train on the other track unaware of approaching Karnataka Express that ran over them killing many.

The incident happened at 4:50 pm on Wednesday between Maheji and Pardhade stations near Pachora, which is about 400 kms from Mumbai.

As per media reports, at least six passengers were killed in the incident. Disrupting visuals from the incident site showed parts of human bodies spread over the tracks.

The rescue operations had started with over 8 ambulances on the site. Additional rescue vans were also sent to the site by Railway authorities.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath expressed his grief over the incident and condoled the demise of passengers. He also ordered adequate medical arrangements for the passengers who were injured in it.
