Goa : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was seen enjoying his lunch at a roadside eatery during his visit to the poll-bound Goa. He also took a ride on bike taxi and travelled for around five kilometers on it.

Rahul Gandhi arrived in Goa on Saturday.

During his visit, he spoke with the fishermen community in South Goa and then went to eat at a roadside eatery in Bambolim village on the Panaji-Margao Highway. He was accompanied by Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar and Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat during his day-long visit.

Mr Gandhi then hopped on to a bike taxi, popularly known as Pilot, to a resort where he was scheduled to meet the people dependent on the mining industry in Goa. The mining industry in Goa was struck hard by the Supreme Court’s decision in 2018.

Later in the evening, Gandhi addressed a Congress workers' convention in Taleigao, Panaji. “I want to congratulate every Congress worker for fighting against the ideology of BJP and fighting for public issues. I want to promise Congress workers and the people of Goa that defectors won't get any space in the party.”
