Rahul Gandhi ignored sexual harassment complaint: Former Congress worker

New Delhi : A former Congress worker has alleged that Rahul Gandhi ignored her complaint of sexual harassment that she had filed against her senior. A social media manager of the party had allegedly harassed her.

In an interview to India Today, she claimed that she also wrote a letter to Rahul Gandhi informing him about the incident. "I am still waiting for a response from them," she said.

"Social media chairperson Divya Spandana is aware of the case. I wrote about it to the party president too but it has not been acknowledged so far. The grievance cell did not take note of the issue either," she said.

Narrating her trauma, she claimed that the accused used to touch her inappropriately and also stare her in the office. He did not stop despite her objection to it.

"How would you feel if a man pointed his shoes towards you at work, breaches your breathing space or touches you inappropriately? This affected me," she said.

The victim girl had left the party only to rejoin in 2018. Her colleagues are now questioning the motives behind her rejoining.

"I never resigned from my job. I was fired because I opposed being reprimanded by Divya Sapandana in front of other colleagues. I rejoined because I realised that my party is above my personal ego," she said.
