New Delhi : Virtual Delhi Book Fair 2021 organized by The Federation of Indian Publishers goes live from tomorrow. The fair will be inaugurated by Rajkumar Ranjan, Minister of State for External Affairs and Education. 

Rajkumar Ranjan said,  "A festival of joy, Delhi Book Fair holds a special place in the hearts of every reader, young and old. An amusement park for the intellectually curious, this fair is going to be the biggest literary event that you will see online."

Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, MP, Rajya Sabha who will deliver the keynote at the inauguration said "The importance of books in shaping your mental health and cultivating soundness of your thinking is beyond explanation”

The fair hosted by pragatiE, a technologically advanced and innovative events platform that organizes a multitude of small and large events virtually/digitally will run from 3rd-5th September 2021. The Federation has decided to conduct the exhibition virtually for the second time again due to the amazing response and participation received last year. The approach towards a digital initiative stands in comparison to the positive changing pattern of virtual platforms with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

The event is co-organized by CAPEXIL (Ministry of Commerce) and sponsored by Buy Books India, Cleverfox Publishing & Room To Read.

Bringing the physical environment to a virtual platform, the Delhi Book Fair has something for everyone. Buying your favorite books, meeting / interacting with your favorite authors & publishers, participating in games and contests,  listening to thought-provoking webinars from experts & industry leaders, engaging through mental health and sustainability pavilions, it will be a bonanza like none other. New book launches from new and renowned authors will make it truly unmissable.

DBF 2021 has two key themes which will have their own pavilion. They will be 'Mental Health' and 'Sustainability'. Organizations like TERI, WWF, Mobius Foundation, Climate Reality will be present as participants in the pavilion on sustainability. Fabricating Sustainability for a resourceful human existence and exploring avenues for an improved Mental Health for people of all ages are the core ethics of the 27th edition of Delhi book fair. New platforms and announcements around mental health are expected during the book fair.

At the Delhi Book Fair 2021, a host of amazing sessions are going to take place under the ambit of pragatiE Vichaar (A premier literary festival where speakers from across the spectrum come together to discuss social issues). Renowned personalities like Major General G.D. Bakshi, Salman Khurshid, Rajdeep Sardesai, Siddharth Rajshekhar, Madhurima Reddy & Maa Anand Sheela are expected to be a part of this literary festival. New book launches will be done at the book fair, including the launch by Dr Sujata Singhi and Mr Kapil Gupta (who is also the founder of PragatiE.com).

The platform for this event at pragatiE is a complete 360° enabled setup that provides an immersive virtual experience. It is equipped with a new and improved marketplace to facilitate the sale of books and is also laced with features that allow live video calls and integration of WhatsApp messenger. 

Last year's Delhi Book fair was the largest virtual book fair till that point in time with 2 Lac+ visitors and this year will be even bigger. It is expected to bring 300000+ visitors, 200+ exhibitors, 10000+ titles, and 50+ webinars in this year's edition. It is expected to bring more than 15,000 international visitors.

The Federation of Indian Publishers is inviting book lovers from all over the world to come and be a part of this literary carnival. The fact that it is an online fair makes it an accessible option for everybody to attend. There is no registration required to be a participant and the entry is absolutely free .
