Rakesh Kumar Applauds Parliament Attack Investigator Hriday Bhushan for His Bravery on Retirement

Senior journalist Rakesh Kumar Singh praised the courage and service of Parliament attack investigator Shri Hriday Bhushan, who recently retired after a long career of public service with the Delhi Police Special Cell. The retirement gathering was attended by Singh along with his wife, Parul Singh, President of the Delhi State Para Olympic Committee.
Shri Hriday Bhushan played a key role in the Special Cell team that investigated and solved the 2001 Parliament attack, one of the most significant terror incidents in India’s recent history. The attack on December 13, 2001, shook the nation and placed India’s internal security apparatus under intense scrutiny.
As an encounter specialist, Shri Hriday Bhushan served the Delhi Police for decades and led or supported several high-risk counter-terror and organised crime operations. During his career, authorities honoured him with more than seven gallantry awards, along with multiple commendations for courage, professionalism, and operational excellence.
Speaking at the gathering, Rakesh Kumar Singh said, “Shri Hriday Bhushan’s retirement brings a remarkable policing career to a close. His role in the Parliament attack investigation and his years of service in the Special Cell demonstrate exceptional courage and dedication. The nation will remember his contribution to national security with deep respect.”
As the country marks 24 years since the Parliament attack, the gathering highlighted the commitment of officers like Shri Hriday Bhushan, whose work often remains away from public view but continues to strengthen India’s internal security framework.
