Bengaluru : Bengaluru Court on Wednesday acquitted a suspended French consular official of charges of raping her 3-year-old daughter, saying that he is innocent and has been "falsely implicated".

Special court judge B S Rekha ruled that there is no evidence found against Mazurier Pascal that proves him guilty, including the DNA report that proves his innocence.

His estranged wife, Suja Jones Mazurier, had filed an application in the court to charge Pascal for committing unnatural offences on his minor daughter.

The case against Pascal had been running since 2012.

Suja and Pascal were married in France in 2001 and have three children. The family had moved to Bengaluru in 2008.

Pascal was arrested on June 19, 2012 based on the complaint filed by his wife, a Keralite.
