New Delhi : Karnataka government on Wednesday announced a fine of Rs 250 on people violation Covid-19 guideline of not wearing a mask in public place. The state government issued an order to ensure people follow coronavirus protocols to stop spread of the virus.

The government also mentioned that only 200 guests will be allowed to attend a wedding function in the state. However, this can be 500 when the arrangement is in the open areas.

For other celebrations like a birthday party, a capacity of 100 people is allowed for open spaces and 50 for closed space.

“Not more than 100 people will be allowed to attend funerals in closed spaces. For funerals in closed areas and cremations/burials, the limit is 50 persons,” as per a statement issued by the government.

The government also mentioned that any party hall or department store who is found flouting the coronavirus rule will have to pay a fine of Rs 5000 to Rs 10000, depending upon its AC/Non-AC character.

In the last 24 hours, Karnataka reported as many as 2,298 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths, the state health department informed on Wednesday.

The total number of positive cases in the state now stands at 9,75,955, including 9,46,589 recoveries and 16,886 active cases. The death toll in the state stands at 12,461.
