Kerala : A high-security cover has been placed in Kerala as the Lord Ayyappa temple of Sabarimala will be opening at 5 PM on Saturday or Mandalakala season.

A couple of days back, Supreme Court had decided to set up a larger bench re-examine their verdict where a ban on the entry of women aged 10 to 40 visiting the shrine was lifted.

According to a report, at least 10,000 police personnel have been deployed in phases in and around the hill temple. Speaking to reporters, Pathanamthitta district collector asserted that there was no need for declaring prohibitory orders like last year.

The Kerala Police has also issued a warning against them who will try to play mischievous on the social media and incite violence in the backdrop of Sabarimala verdict. Those who spread messages, through social media, affecting the communal harmony of the state will be arrested immediately and charged under non-bailable sections, a police press release said.

“All sorts of accounts across various social media platforms are being closely monitored by the Cyber Cell, Cyberdom and Cyber Police Stations”, the release added.

Last year, On September 28, 2018, the Supreme Court had lifted allowed the entry of women to the hill shrine. While a massive protest had erupted among the right-wing outfits and the devotees over the entry of women of menstruation age trying to enter the temple premises.
