Salman Khan returns to Jodhpur jail after 12 years

Jodhpur : Actor Salman Khan who has been awarded five years of jail in 1998 blackbuck poaching case returned to Jodhpur Central Jail after 12 years. He had spent five nights in the same jail in 2006. This time he is in barrack no 2, where rape convict Asaram Bapu is also lodged.

The security of barrack number 2 has been increased as it also have gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who had threatened to kill Salman Khan in Jodhpur Central Jail.

Self-styled godman Asaram Bapu has been in Jodhpur jail for over five years. He was found guilty of raping a schoolgirl in his ashram in 2013. Asaram allegedly received preferential VIP treatment in prison. The Rajsamand killer Shambhulal Regar recently made a video from the prison.

Salman Khan was found guilty under Section 9/51 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 for killing two blackbucks, an endangered species, hunting of which is prohibited by law. 

The other co-stars, however, have been acquitted by the court. Along with Salman Khan, Sonali Bendre, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu and Neelam had allegedly went to hunt down blackbuck in Kankani village near Jodhpur on October 1-2, 1998, during the shooting of film Hum Saath Saath Hain.

Salman Khan will be filing bail plea in Jodhpur sessions court on Friday.
