Big Supreme Court decision! Shahabuddin to be transferred from Siwan jail to Tihar

New Delhi : The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered the transfer of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) strongman Mohammad Shahabuddin from the Siwan jail in Bihar to the Tihar Central Jail in New Delhi.

There were reports that Shahabuddin is getting special benefits in Siwan jail and recently one of his selfie from inside the jail campus had triggered rage and controversy.

Mohammad Shahabuddin had created a controversy with his purported selfie showing his changed look inside Siwan prison, the picture had gone viral on the social media. In the wake of the controversy, the Siwan district administration had also conducted raids inside the jail, finding three mobile phones, four sim cards and two mobile batteries.

The apex court pronounced its judgement on a plea filed by Asha Ranjan, wife of slain journalist Rajdeo Ranjan, seeking shifting of Shahabuddin for a free and fair trial in the case.
