Scrap Mafia Scam: Vigilance Department Demands Evidence on Registered Complaint of Aam Aadmi Sena

New Delhi : Under the scrap policy for 10-15-year-old diesel and petrol vehicles, a scam involving the Transport Department and the scrap mafia was exposed by an organization called Aam Aadmi Sena during a press conference held at the Press Club in Delhi. The National President of the organization, Prabhat Kumar, demanded a thorough investigation with all the documents and also mentioned the need to file a complaint with LG, NIA, CBI, and the Crime Branch. Upon learning about the published news, a complaint was filed with the Vigilance Department of the Delhi government, which has now requested evidence from the complainant to substantiate the allegations.

In this complaint, the complainant, Jhangir Puri, who is the working president of the Aam Aadmi Sena in Delhi, has accused the Transport Commissioner of favoring a company during the press conference, claiming corruption. Taking cognizance of the complaint, the Vigilance Department has requested the complainant to provide evidence in support of their allegations within 7 days, so that appropriate action can be taken in accordance with the guidelines of the CVC.

It should be noted that during the press conference, the National President, Prabhat Kumar, claimed that the officials of the Transport Department of the Delhi government, taking advantage of the scrap policy presented by the Honorable Prime Minister for the welfare of the people, colluded with the scrap mafia to carry out a scam worth crores. He alleged that in Delhi, vehicles were forcefully taken from in front of people's homes without any knowledge of those vehicles' whereabouts. He also claimed that the Transport Department does not have any data on the vehicles that were taken. He stated that due to the officials' collusion with the scrap mafia, the rules and notifications of the NGT and the Central Government were ignored. They resorted to open thuggery, instilling fear in people with the enforcement team, in collaboration with the scrap mafia. He also expressed suspicion that these vehicles were being used by terrorists.
