Sexually abused over 500 girls, confesses Sunil Rastogi, sent to 14 day judicial custody

New Delhi : Delhi's serial rapist – Sunil Rastogi – has confessed to sexually abusing over 500 girls in last 13 years. Accused paedophile has been sent to 14-day judicial custody by Delhi court on Monday.

Delhi Police had arrested Sunil Rastogi, father of five, on Sunday in Delhi. He used to visit the national capital on regular basis and has been named in six cases of cases of sexual assault or attempted sexual assault on children.

"The accused told us he used to target girls between 7 and 10. Whenever he would find any girl going home from school, he used to mislead her on the pretext that her father had sent some clothes or some other articles to give her and take her to an isolated place," senior police officer Omvir Singh said on Sunday.

Rastogi ran out of luck after last three cases were registered against him in east Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar - one on December 13 and two others on January 12.

His identity in crimes has also been verified via CCTV footages recovered from the crime scenes.
