Shri Jitendra Srivastava Assumes Charge as CMD of REC Limited

New Delhi : Shri Jitendra Srivastava, IAS, has assumed charge as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of REC Limited on April 22, 2025.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) had approved the appointment of Shri Srivastava—an IAS officer of the 2000 batch from the Bihar cadre—as CMD of REC on April 18, 2025. He has been appointed at the level and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India under the Ministry of Power.

A seasoned civil servant, Shri Srivastava brings with him over two decades of distinguished service. He has held several key administrative and leadership roles in both the Government of India and the Government of Bihar in recent years.

Since January 2023, Shri Srivastava has been serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. Prior to this, he held the position of Secretary in the Home Department and the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) in the Government of Bihar.

Throughout his career, he has worked extensively in sectors such as finance, power, education, public health, and infrastructure. His deep understanding of governance at the grassroots level, combined with his experience at the central level, positions him well to steer REC’s strategic goals and support India’s growing power and energy needs.

He holds a B.A. (Honours) in Economics from Hansraj College, University of Delhi, and an MBA in Finance from Cochin University of Science and Technology.
