Shujaat Bukhari murder: A 'terror-related' incident, says police

Srinagar : A day after Shujaat Bukhari was murdered, the Jammu and Kashmir Police called it a 'terror-related' incident and took a man, allegedly fourth suspect, into the custody.

Addressing a press conference, Inspector General (IG) of Kashmir police, SP Pani said,"The fourth suspect in the Shujaat Bukhari case has been identified. With the help of the public, he has been arrested. His role for the recovery of the pistol has been done. Investigation of the case is going on."

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has also been formed to investigate the matter. “The first picture of the suspects were not in the public domain. The second picture was in public domain. It can be seen that he stood there, attempting to retrieve the weapon. A SIT has been formed, DIG central Kashmir will be heading it,” SP Pani informed the media persons on Friday.

The statements of IG Kashmir came hours after the picture of fourth suspect was released.
